Last Thursday night the Brilliant Club went to Durham University to celebrate their success. Twelve of our More Able students participated in a study skills workshop including a feedback session on how they have enjoyed the programme and what skills they have gained in the process.
Students celebrated this success with: parents, carers, friends and other family members and were presented with certificates by Dr Natalie Day who is the Area Director for the Brilliant Club in the North of England.
Ellen Proud and Niamh Carr gave a speech about the topic they had studied in front of a packed auditorium. They gave advice to other students thinking about embarking on this programme. For example, how to manage their time and to meet deadlines including what they enjoyed most about the topic they studied.
Their PHD tutor was also at the ceremony and gave a speech on how proud she was of our students and how she will miss their positivity and enthusiasm for knowledge.
Congratulations to: Ellen Proud, Niamh Carr, Denzel Kamatari, Beth Davidson, Tilly Colledge, Milly Coates, Lewis Gouldburn, Callum Robson, Lauren Hubb, Sophie Harrison and Orlena Henderson.
