On Thursday 25th January 2018, a group of Lord Lawson year 7 students attended a pioneering STEM event at Virgin Money’s Head Office, Gosforth, in partnership with NE1Can.

The students met local employers whose companies are involved with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), including Northumbrian Water; Accenture; Price Waterhouse Cooper; Arup; Baker Hughes; NHS; Newcastle United Foundation.

The companies delivered interactive workshops for children from 10 schools across the region, inspiring the students to find out more about STEM subjects and careers and the world of opportunities open to young people who take an interest in STEM subjects at school and beyond.

Our students participated greatly in the hands-on activities that sparked their curiosity around STEM jobs in the future, and enjoyed an exciting and very successful day.
