At Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy, we are following guidance from the Department for Education and Gateshead Public Health.

After consultation with other secondary schools in Gateshead, the Principal, senior leaders and governors at Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy, it has been agreed that face coverings will be worn in communal areas of the Academy on return.

Please see the following slides for further information.

We appreciate that this is very different from how we are used to being together in school, so we wanted to give you this information as soon as possible after agreed. This will allow a few days to talk to your child about the change as well as source any additional coverings that may be needed.

If your child is exempt from wearing a face covering due to medical reasons please contact the relevant Houseblock so that your child can be best supported. Please note that Houseblock staff will return on Thursday the 3rd of September.

We are aware that there are other, non face covering related queries and we will be communicating further updates and plans in the coming days as well as posting a FAQ sheet next week.

Feel free to comment any questions however, please be mindful that the social media team may not be able to answer them. Instead, we may need to make a note of them to inform the FAQ.

Once again, we thank you for your patience and understanding and are confident that by working together we can secure a safe and successful reopening
