WoW Week Take Over Day 2012

On the 27th January 2012, Lord Lawson students took over the jobs of various members of Staff, including Mr Grigg the Head Teacher, and other teaching and Support staff. This was part of the WOW (World of Work) week event. We talked to student, Erin Rae Rogers who shadowed Mrs Young pastoral assistant of Fleet House, during this event. We asked what sort of things she had done so far. Erin said that she had been walking round school tracking students to various departments, and working with Mrs Young on the School computer system. We also talked to Abbie Oldroyd who was working with her Mother Mrs Oldroyd, Pastoral assistant of Grove House. We firstly asked her if she had enjoyed her day, she answered ‘Yes, It’s really fun, but very hard work.’
Apart from Support Staff, Students also worked with Teaching Staff. For example, we visited Miss Brown (Dance Teacher), Laura Goode and Georgia Stoddart were Miss Brown’s assistants for the day. They chose to work with Miss Brown for the day because they both enjoy dancing. Finally, we talked to Mrs Endacott and her two assistants Elle-May Henderson and Elle Bradshaw. They worked with Mrs Endacott because they both really like Media and art, but found it tiring because they had to go up and down stairs from classroom to classroom.
Today, we worked in the Design Studio, we designed a new birthday card for the school and we wrote this article for the School Website. We took photos of other people round school to add to this article. 'We had really good time and really enjoyed ourselves and learnt a lot.
