Durham into National Final after second half comeback

Durham came from 4-1 down at half time to beat Cheshire 6-4 (aet) to reach the final of the ESFA U16 Boys Inter-county Trophy on Saturday. Cheshire played good football and deserved to 4-1 ahead at half time.

Durham rallied after half time and three second half goals forced the game into extra time. Goals in each period of extra time gave Durham an incredible victory considering the half time situation. In the final Durham will play Oxfordshire at the City Ground home of Nottingham Forest FC.

Lord Lawson Academy was represented well in the game by Jack Gurr from Year 11 and by Mr Richards who is manager of the team. Jack played the full match at right back and created one of the goals. We wish both the best of luck for the Final and hope they return as National Champions!
