BEN MONTAGUE VISIT

 

 

As part of Lord Lawson's continued commitment to bringing you the very best of the nation's hot new musical talent, Ben Montague took time out from his busy touring schedule to take to our stage on Wednesday 27th June. Fresh from supporting "The Wanted" on their UK tour, and in front of a very enthusiastic Year 7 crowd, Ben wowed us all with acoustic versions of his latest hits, including his most recent, Love Like Stars, released on 18th June.

Ben stunned the audience with his terrific vocals and guitar accompaniment, while pulling out some nifty audience participation that eventually had the entire audience of 300 on its feet - and just for that hour the main hall was transformed into the O2 Arena.

After this amazing gig, Ben answered all the questions that Lord Lawson could throw at him, where we found out he only started playing the guitar at 14 (he's now 27), he has also supported The Stereophonics, and is a lifelong Chelsea fan (which pleased Mrs Hetherington no end!)

Autograph signing, goodie bags, posters and posing for facebook pics brought to a close the fantastic visit for our students. Thank you so much Y7s (and 6th formers, who were keen for several photographs with Mr Montague...!) for being a wonderful audience and making Ben feel so welcome.

Shortly after he left, to visit the Angel of the North before heading to Newcastle's O2 Academy for his gig last night, Ben's tour manager contacted us to let us know Ben had really loved meeting you and enjoyed performing for you all.
