SPORTS DAY 2011

 

 

On Thursday 21st July, after several weeks of careful planning and organising by the PE department, the students from all four house blocks competed in the Lord Lawson 2011 sports day.

 

The student teams from Fleet, Grove, Talbot and Brookside houseblocks competed in a series of track and field events – these were events such as 100m, 400m, team relay etc. All of the events were supervised by the PE department staff and Birtley Athletics Club.

 

There was a great competetive spirit from all the staff and students, and some amazing athletic performances from all four house blocks. However, there can only be one winner, this year Fleet house carried away the trophy closely followed by Brookside. In third position was Talbot closely followed by Grove in fourth.

 

The day was enjoyed by staff and students alike, and was a fitting end to the 2011 summer term.
