Year 11 Presentation Assembly 09

Fab Flournoy the Newcastle Eagles Basketball team Player /Coach was guest of honour at the year 11 Presentation Assembly today. After presenting 250 year 11 students with their Progress files Fab gave a memorable and inspirational talk to parents and students about an event which changed his life. Brought up in New York Fab had never played basketball until he saw a friend wearing the coolest pair of red trainers he had ever seen and asked where he had got them. From the basketball club, Im on the team came the reply. From then on Fabs dream was to own a pair of those cool red sneakers Eventually after much hard work Fab had his own red trainers and his passport to a better life through basketball.

The challenge was clear; what is your red sneaker dream and will you work hard enough to achieve it? Fab encouraged the year 11 students to aim high, and keep pressing on towards achieving your potential, starting with the vital examinations which were just round the corner. .

Autographs, photographs, shirt signing and refreshments  rounded of the presentation assembly which both students and parents agreed was an inspiration to all.
