Peter Beardsley Visit

Move It 2008

Year 11 Presentation Assembly 15th May 2008

Our annual Presentation Assembly for year 11 students is an opportunity to mark the end of formal timetabled lessons and the beginning of the hectic examination period. It also gives us the platform to encourage students to focus on revision, and to present them with their Progress Files.

We were delighted to welcome Peter Beardsley as guest of honour together with over one hundred parents to the main hall on Thursday. Peter gave an inspirational talk to the students and encouraged them to do their best to succeed in the highly competitive and pressured world in which we live. He spoke of his own childhood and making the most of every opportunity offered to him; it was obvious his message struck a chord with the students. Two students, Katie McCornish and John Carr presented Peter with a cheque for the Charity Tiny Lives, (of which he is a Patron) by way of thanks for being willing to make the Presentation Assembly so special this year.

When the formal part of the morning came to a conclusion students enjoyed Pizza, drinks and much shirt signing, tears, photographs and autographs.  Our thanks go to our special guest, Peter Beardsley the students, parents, governors and guests for making this occasion such a success
