Happy New Year

Talbot House News
  • A happy New Year from all the staff in Talbot, everyone keep up the hard work during the new year.

Week beginning 12th November 2007

  • Nicola Carter 9RE was Production Manager in a DVD produced with other students through "Media Box" during August 2007. The film is being viewed this week by her tutor group 9RE.
  • Well done to Robbie Gee 9RE for a great performance with the school rugby team over the past weekend.
  • Both of the above students have been nominated for Talbot's prestigious "Wicked Wednesday" award by their tutor which, incidentally will be run on Thursday 22nd Nov, to coincide with our "Thanksgiving" Theme.
  • Mr Calland and Mr Goodwill have kicked off their ever poplar "Science Club", which is run in the Science Dept on a Thursday night, and includes many fantastic experiments and activities.

Week beginning 5th November 2007

  • Talbot were the overall winners of the boys cross country. No Surprise there!
  • Members of Talbot staff are taking 34 students to Athens on 23rd to 27th May 2008. Places are still available, and anyone interested should contact Mrs Smith or Mr Goodwill in Talbot for more details. This trip is open to all year groups from 7-13.
  • 20 year 11 Students with 100% attendance during last half-term have each been awarded a £1 Prom Voucher to go towards the cost of their prom.
  • Children In Need Disco has been organised by Year 11 BTEC students, and is being run by Talbot Prefects. It will be held on Tues 4th Dec, 6-8pm in the main hall. More details to follow...

Week beginning 15th October 2007

  • Jonathan Phipps 9 PCD was selected to attend Air Experience Flying at RAF Leeming on 16th Oct. Jonathan was given the opportunity to fly a two-seater tutor aircraft.
  • Talbot students are collecting plastic bottle tops to raise funds for a young boy who needs an electric wheelchair. We need to collect his body weight in bottle tops in order to achieve this. The collection point will be Mrs Atkinson art room. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
  • Congratulations to Laura Kennedy 9DTR and Jordan Fleming 9RE who took part in the Dott '07 Challenge, and secured the runners up prize of £5000.
