Japanese student Visit
We were delighted to welcome students and staff from Komatsu City High School Japan, as part of the annual exchange visit between the two schools.
After a traditional English school lunch the Japanese students demonstrated their Origami and Calligraphy skills much to the delight of the Lord Lawson students. Gifts were exchanged between Mr Makiko Kameda, the senior teacher from Komatsu who was leading the group, and Mr Grigg, our own Head. The visit took place on the last day of term, and it is significant that our Japanese friends were the last visitors to be entertained in the "Old Lord Lawson building" We will look forward to welcoming them back into our new building as possibly our first overseas visitors of 2008. Our aim is to strengthen our links with Komatsu City High School, and a formal twinning agreement between the schools will be signed next year when a delegation from Gateshead visit Japan.
