Year 11 Leavers Assembly

Chris with Mr Grigg

The start of the examination period was marked this year with the traditional Presentation Assembly for year 11 students. The Progress Files were presented by Commonwealth double gold medal winning swimmer Chris Cook, who was making a welcome return to Lord Lawson School.

Phil Dicks form Sport England accompanied Chris and introduced the theme of Chris's talk by using a very powerful video presentation. Chris gave an inspirational talk about the need for persistence in training to gain those extra inches needed to win in competitions, and the obvious parallels with intense revision to achieve academic success.

Chris hands out one of many awards during the evening.

Our Year 11 students were a credit to their parents and the school, and after refreshments in the gallery, shirt signing and many photographs they left school to continue preparing for the tough round of examinations ahead.
