Celebration Night
Lord Lawson Construction who are working towards their City and Guilds Certificate in Building Craft Occupations BCO.
Graham Lowery the tutor for this group says that the Lord Lawson construction students have become the most hard working and mature 14 - 16 construction group attending college. Through continued hard work they are on target to achieve their BCO qualification. They have all demonstrated skills and knowledge normally associated with older apprentices and are a credit to the college and their school.
Lord Lawson Motor Vehicle
The students in this group are working towards their City and Guilds Progression Award in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair. Their tutor says that they have made steady progress in acquiring the knowledge and practical skills that they will need to work in the Motor Industry. If they choose a different career, which some will, they have also developed skills, such as team working skills, which will be valuable to them in their chosen profession.
Lord Lawson Body Repair
Their tutor says that the Lord Lawson Year 11 vehicle body repair group have made measurable progress over the last two years. The group as a whole are on course to achieve a level one city and guilds progression award in vehicle body repair. He is very proud of the group where a number of the students have passed the course units with merits and distinctions.
Lord Lawson Hairdressing is working towards the NVQ Level 1 in Hairdressing
The group's tutor says that over the last two years the students have not only developed excellent hairdressing skills, but a good range of other skills. She says that she hopes that they realise how far they have come and what they have achieved, she has certainly enjoyed teaching them and hopes to see them moving on into hairdressing careers or further education.
Lord Lawson Childcare is working towards the CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children
Their tutor for this group has said that she has really enjoyed working with them and watching them gain in confidence and knowledge over the past two years. She is sure that some of the students will go on to be a credit to the childcare profession and those who choose not to go into childcare have, none the less, acquired skills that they can build upon in the profession that they choose. She says that they are a credit to their families, Lord Lawson, and of course themselves.
