Author Mary Hooper Visit
On Thursday 9th November, the children's author, Mary Hooper paid a visit to Lord Lawson LRC as part of the Northern Children's Book Festival.
She worked with 2 Year 7 classes in the morning and a further 2 in the afternoon. Mary has written lots of books for young people, particularly for girls, but she has decided to concentrate solely on historical fiction in the future.
Many of her books are set in the Stuart period and the students were very interested to hear how she researches these. The students had read many of her books in preparation and both sessions were followed by a lively question and answer session. All of the students enjoyed this visit and many have been into the LRC since to request Mary's books.
