MMaDD Awards 2017 Wednesday 12th July 2017

On Wednesday 12th July we hosted the 4th Annual MMaDD Awards to celebrate the achievement and dedication of our Students within the Performing Arts Disciplines Music, Media, Dance and Drama. It was an evening of presentation and performance. With a range of Awards from Discipline winners in the categories including of Creativity, Collaboration and Commitment, Enrichment, Quadruple Threat and Subject Star winners.

Recognition was given to members of the Academy’s Performers group, Students excelling within Music Study and to lower school students who collaborated and performed in the GCSE Dance examinations.

A special recognition must go to the Winners of our Ian Leaf Outstanding Contribution Winners Owen Saunders and Kieron Jackson. Owen and Kieron have made a huge contribution to the Performing Arts department over the past seven years. Particularly over the past two years as the leading roles in both Lion King Junior 2016 (Kieron- Mufasa and Adult Simba and Owen- Timon) and Our House 2017 (Kieron- Reecey and Owen- Joe Casey) our winners have been incredible role models to our younger students and have been a pleasure to collaborate with. We would like to thank Owen and Kieron for their enthusiasm and dedication to every performance project, we are so proud of you and wish you both the best of luck in your new adventures at University.

Outstanding performances on the evening were Enrichment students Wham/ George Michael Tribute, Performers mini interpretation of Oliver and our Be our Guest opening extravaganza.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Amazing Performing Arts students and Parents for their ongoing support and enthusiasm towards our projects. We really do appreciate it and hope that the MMaDD Awards made you feel proud of your achievements s and progress this year.

We look forward to new projects beginning in September with our Beamish to Broadway…Bright lights Big, City Talent Show case and of course the Auditions for our 2018 Academy Production…CATS!
