Four Yr 13 students delivered assemblies last week on the theme of Holocaust Memorial as part of their involvement in the Lessons from Auschwitz programme.
The students visited Auschwitz in October last year and met Eva Clark a holocaust survivor who was born in a concentration camp. The students gave very personal accounts of their experiences and discussed the consequences of the holocaust. Students from all houseblocks and Sixth form asked questions which the presenters answered. These included whether they thought it would happen again as is the case in parts of Russia and China
The students and staff focused on why it is so important to show respect and tolerance and how we all have a responsibility to make sure it never happens again.
