With 1 in 5 in the UK living below the poverty line, Year 8 Project Time have organised a collection ahead of the Christmas holiday to support the work of the Gateshead Food Bank.
The Gateshead Food Bank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. Last year alone, the Gateshead Food Bank provided 4,861 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis, including the families of students at our own academy.
Lists of items needed are posted around the academy in tutor rooms or can be accessed in the window below.
Students have been asked to bring in items to donate by Monday 4th December so that we can pass these on in good time to be of benefit over the Christmas holiday. Students can either collect items for the time-being in their own tutor rooms or they can bring them directly to GE31.
Many thanks in advance for your support the
Year 8 Project Time team.
