Voting in the UK general election is under way at more than 40,000 polling stations across the country. Students and staff at Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy are no different by holding their own mock elections. Mock Elections give students of all ages an insight into how the democratic process works and the importance of voting. Throughout the day students have been voting for the political party of their choice to govern the uk for the next four years.

Out of the 452 votes cast Lord Lawson students voted for a Labour government with a landslide victory. Please see the results and election photos below.
