Dear Parents and Carers

Children of Key Workers

Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy will be closed to most pupils from Monday 23 March.

We will remain open for ‘vulnerable pupils’ and for the children of ‘key workers’. If you consider yourself to be a key worker and you intend to send your children to school next week, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can make plans.

‘Key workers’ include those working in:

  • The NHS
  • Schools
  • Support for doctors, nurses and NHS staff
  • Critical national infrastructure
  • Food delivery

The Government will publish a full list this afternoon.

If you intend to send your child to school from Monday 23 March, please email us as soon as possible at  admin@lordlawson.org.uk and let us know:

  1. Child’s Name
  2. Year group
  3. Parent’s name
  4. Parent’s occupation

Pupils will be expected to attend school in uniform, and they will work to the normal school day times, 08:45-15:15. School meals will be available, as usual. This is to provide as normal a routine as possible for pupils at a time when their parents are working in stressful conditions to help the country manage the coronavirus pandemic.

We will circulate details about transport as soon as we know more.
