Ravensworth Terrace Primary School has 188 pupils on its role. The age range is between 4 and 11 years. This school is situated in Birtley within County Durham and is the nearest geographically to Lord Lawson of Beamish School. This is a quote from OfSTED: “High personal and academic results from the pupils”. The pupils show a positive attitude and behaviour around and during the school day. Good provision in lessons is put on by the staff, that gives the pupils enthusiasm for learning. The key to learning is calm and purposeful lessons, which is being continuously developed in the school. Ravensworth School has respect as shown through the school assisting in continued learning and achievement. Parents work closely with the school and are kept updated with the progress being made by the children. Ravensworth is involved in many charitable activities in the wider community. 

 

It also has good links to the local community in business partnership with Dobbies Garden Centre, St John’s Church and Heworth Grange Centre.The school has an active school council. The school was one of the first in the Gateshead cluster area to gain a Healthy School Award.

 

Activities such as Fun fit, cheerleading, football and netball occur on a weekly basis. During the school day specialist coaches teach golf and basketball with Newcastle Eagles. School visits include Segedunum, Discovery Museum, Monkwearmouth and Slam Pottery. Dance Activities are another form of extra curricular activities and are run by Lord Lawson of Beamish School.
