Kibblesworth Primary School
Kibblesworth is a village just outside Birtley in the North East of England and has 115 children on role at present. The age range is from 3-11 years. Kibblesworth is one of 73 primary schools in Gateshead. It has gained the Healthy school award for over 10 years and has the Silver arts mark in 2007. The relationships are very good in school and staff development. Physical wellbeing and feeling safe is a key area within this school. With Kibblesworth there has been improved attendance throughout the school and across the region as a whole.
There are good links with the local community and its church and the Millennium Centre. Excellent working relationships exist with close support between staff and parents, which assists to improve their children’s education. A school council is integral within Kibblesworth as it helps staff to improve the pupils’ enjoyment and daily routines of school life. Extra-curricular activities were described as making an outstanding contribution to developing pupils' interests, talents and enjoyment of learning from one school-based report. This is a list of the current after school activities: gym, beavers, cookery, choir and basketball.
Within school time activities include French, Dancing, and Swimming, and Hockey. The school has links to Northumbria University, Gateshead College and Heworth Grange CLC. Weekend activities include Gibside and educational visits consist of Art Galleries, Saltwell Park and the Sage Gateshead with trips away to Norway and links to France. The school also has close links to Lord Lawson School especially through sporting events, competitions and planned programs.
