HOMEWORK
Within each unit of work students will be required to carry out a research project
As part of the accelerated reading programme students should be reading for at least 30 minutes a day.
A set of spellings will be given fortnightly
Work will also be set depending by the class teacher relating to the work studied in class.

All students in year 7 have one lesson a week following a renaissance reading programme whereby they read books and complete quizzes to improve their reading level. Some students in year 8 and 9 continue with this programme.
HOW CAN I HELP MY SON/DAUGHTER?
Listen to your child read at least once a week and complete their reading record or sign their homework diary to show that they have had the chance to read aloud and talk about what they have read.
Encourage your child to read from the suggested reading lists on the website.
