We are delighted to announce that the next 2019 Academy production will be…
Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
We are thrilled to have secured the performing rights to another of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s well-loved musicals after the success of our 2018 production CATS. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is returning to London’s West End for a run at the London Palladium this summer, making this both a classic and contemporary choice for our next Lord Lawson Production.
Since the final night of Mary Poppins Junior, the Performing Arts team have been busy creating a plan for the next academic year. September will see many of our committed Performers enter their GCSE examination Year. These pupils have worked extremely hard for the Performing Arts team since they joined the Academy in Year 7 and are currently studying for GCSE’s across the Performing Arts Disciplines. It is essential that we provide a plan for the year which supports Year 11 to both participate in Joseph and also support them through the demands of their academic examinations while continuing to offer year-long opportunities and extracurricular provision for all pupils.
To support all pupils we have decided to stage Joseph in October.
The performance dates will be Tuesday 15th October- Friday 18th October 2019 at 7 pm.
We are hoping that by rearranging our Performing Arts events all pupils will have the opportunity to enjoy and achieve both in the academy production and through continued opportunities across the year. Over the past year, the Performing Arts department has been affected by the loss of Creativity week, Wednesday enrichment time and a reduced Performing Arts Team. We have evidenced this year that we are determined the loss of these resources will not affect the opportunities or quality of work that we create with our pupils. However, this seems like a sensible time to re-organise events to ensure they fit with the wider context of the academic year.

thank you for your continued support towards the Performing Arts Department, Our pupils and Productions,
